Transforming Family Welcome! When our children share with us that they are transgender or nonbinary, our instinct is to protect them and prepare them for success as young adults. Each member of the family has distinct needs. Most often: Parents are overwhelmed with questions—there is much to learn—and anxiety, based on our lack of information. Young children often just simply know who they are, but want to find other kids their own age who are like them.
